Skoda Scout import delayed for undecided price
Shanghai, June 19 (Gasgoo.com) Skoda has delayed the introduction of Scout as the automaker is reportedly still in negotiations with Shanghai Volkswagen for Scout’s selling price, Beijing Youth Daily reports.
As the official importer of Skoda in the Greater China region, Shanghai Volkswagen estimates the Scout's price at some 250,000 yuan ($36,231). Currently the two sides are still in talks for the final price, but it will be impossible for Scout to be sold at a low price in China as it sells well overseas, the newspaper said.
The import of Skoda started last year, with the four-wheel drive Scout wagon being selected as the first Skoda model to be delivered. Scout was originally scheduled to go on sale in China in late March, but was then delayed.
