Cadillac BLS to be introduced to China
Shanghai, June 23 (Gasgoo.com) A recent report said that Cadillac, General Motors' luxury unit, plans to introduce a small sedan Cadillac BLS to China, according to auto.sina.com.cn.
Cadillac BLS represents all the essence of the Cadillac family design. It features a rectangular grille and the vertical headlamps and tail lamps.
At 4681mm in overall length, the BLS is almost six inches shorter than the CTS, the smallest Cadillac available in North America, but is much longer than BMW 1-series.
"Premium is not a question of vehicle size but purely of excellence," said Bob Lutz, chairman of GM North America. "And in this aspect, the Cadillac BLS will definitely be a top player in its league."
Inside, the Cadillac BLS Wagon features an audio system from 9 Bose, a DVD-based navigation system with touch-screen operation, a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone system with a hands-free kit, and remote controls on the steering wheel.
The range of engines available in the BLS will include two petrol engines - a 2.0-liter turbo and a 2.8 turbo six-cylinder, in similar specifications to BMW 1-series 2.0L and 3.0L engines.
BLS is expected to be priced between 260,000 yuan ($37,681) and 400,000 yuan in China, close to the current price of BMW 1-series which is between 270,000 yuan and 440,000 yuan.
