Shanghai, June 23 (Gasgoo.com) Besturn dealerships will be extended to over 100 this year from the current around 90 and it is possible for HQ 3 (Hongqi, or Red Flag) to be merged into Besturn sales network, Yu Yang, vice marketing director of FAW Besturn, told reporters recently.

"We must protect our dealers as they are not that strong at present." Yu said. He also disclosed that the Besturn company will give one-off compensation to the Guangzhou dealers as they suffered a loss last year.

China's First Auto Works (FAW) aims to sell 50,000 Besturn cars this year. According to Yu, at least 100,000 Besturn cars will be sold next year as Besturn is on its way to hit 250,000 sales target by 2010.

More Besturn brand cars will be launched in the next two years to accomplish the sales target, he said, adding Besturn sales in the first five months of this year have exceeded its full-year 2007 level.
