Shanghai, June 24 (Gasgoo.com) China's vehicle regulatory body has issued safety warnings about imported Mazda 3 hatchback and Mazda 5 vehicles sold in China.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ) said in a filing that the wiring harness inside the cylinder block lacks the isolation devices, which may lead to malfunctions of electronic parts or even cause a fire.

GAQSIQ warned that inspection of all the imported Mazda cars in China will be intensified from now on. It's not clear when the warning will be lifted.

Mazda 3 hatchback and Mazda 5 were sold in China through FAW Mazda Motor Sales Co. In 2008 the company aims to sell 30,000 units of the two models.
