BMW X6 sports coupe to hit China market in July
Shanghai, June 26 (Gasgoo.com) The all-new sports coupe BMW X6 will come to China's mainland market on July 4 as the imported car. BMW confirmed that the XD35i 3.0 version powered by a twin-turbocharged engine will go on sale at first with a selling price at 970,000 yuan ($141,230). Customers can order the car now with a deposit of 100,000 yuan.
BMW launched the BMW 6 in Hong Kong on June 10. As the first SAC hybrid model displayed at the 2008 Beijing auto show in April, BMW's X6 sports activity coupe is off to a strong start -- with 2,652 sold since its launch this year in the United States and Europe. The 2008 BMW X6 will be available to Chinese customers in two engine variants: the xDrive50i with 400 hp and the xDrive35i with 300 hp. Both configurations come with twin turbo and direct injection engines.
The BMW X6 employs BMW's intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive technology with electronic control to vary the distribution of drive power between the front and rear axles, instantaneously adjusting to driving conditions. However, the X6 takes xDrive a step further with the introduction of Dynamic Performance Control.
As the world's first Sports Activity Coupe, the BMW X6 offers a mix of unique features and performance ability. The new BMW X6's design combines the sporting elegance of a large BMW Coupe with the powerful presence of a BMW X model.
