Chery Auto launched China's first self-developed car Chery Qiyun in March 2001. Chery exported its first batch of Qiyun cars to Syria in 2001 and now has made car sales deals with auto companies from more than 50 countries. The Qiyun is now exported to more than 30 countries in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. Chery has plans to export the vehicle to the U.S. by 2010.
