SAIC overseas sales to target 45,000 units by 2010
Shanghai, July 1 (Gasgoo.com) Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) has set its overseas sales goal of 45,000 units by 2010, of which four fifths are own-brand products, reports Beijing Morning Post.
The launch of Roewe 550 and MG 3SW has extended SAIC's own-made products lineup in the domestic market and is pressing SAIC to quicken its overseas marketing layout.
To promote the exports of Roewe, MG and some other products, SAIC has established its overseas business office. Along with the previous Products Committee and MG Britain Company, the company's overseas management operation has been completed.
The company is projecting to launch over 30 vehicle models based on 5 platforms from 2007 to 2010, including RV, middle-sized vehicles, compact vehicles and hybrids with prices set to range from 65,000 yuan ($9475) to 300,000 yuan.
