The Founder of Tesla to be Consultant for A Listed Automaker in China
Gasgoo (Shanghai, September 29)— Reportedly, Martin Eberhard, the founder of Tesla has signed contract to provide service of consultancy for SF MOTORS, an American subsidiary of China Chongqing Sokon industrial group co., LTD.
Sokon Group is a leading manufacturer and provider of vans in China. The company has released the plan to develop electric passenger vehicles in July. To be mentioned, Sokon has launched alternative energy commercial vehicles which have great market performance in China.
SF MOTORS, which is based in America, is a subsidiary of Sokon. The company has business including development, manufacture, and providing after-sale service of alternative energy vehicles, which may make it look like Tesla.
Based on the contract, Eberhard may provide two-year consultancy service including product positioning, product development, technology innovation and others for SF MOTORS.
However, there has been few information about the new company. Whether cooperation between Eberhard and SF MOTORS can have great development remains uncertain.
