Beijing Hyundai Stepping into an “After-Million sales” Era

Beijing Hyundai has already achieved above-million sales for three consecutive years. While standing at the start point of stepping into an “after-million sales” era, deputy general manager of Beijing Hyundai pointed out that, the brand should go forward in the future, at the same time retaining its advantages as well as introducing technology, innovation and vitality. The brand new Elantra, a 1.3-million sales car debut in Guangdong International automobile exhibition this year, will play an important role for Beijing Hyundai to enter into the “after-million sales” era.

The new Elantra adopted a “Modern Simplicity” designing concept based on the 2.0 fluidic sculpture design. The vehicle is more flat but sportive with beautiful look of Korean cars, which will be popular with young people.

The new Elantra carries a large-sized colorful vertical screen of 8 inches, supports Carplay and Carlife smartphones interconnected systems at the same time and the trunks are equipped with intelligent opening function. The car is also equipped with air outlet for air-condition in the back row, seat heating function for front seats, vision for reversing and more comfortable allocations.

According to Wu Zhoutao, Beijing Hyundai’s vice president and deputy director for sales, the new generation of Elantra is specially designed for rational, practical and married people with kids that is among 30-39 years old. It will be listed in March next year.

Since 2016, Beijing Hyundai has announced 8 new vehicles and upgrading vehicles, driving the sales growth to increase effectively.

During January to October, Beijing Hyundai’s accumulative total sales has increased 6% year on year, tops 4 among the industry, while the D+S accounted for 52%. SUV of Beijing Hyundai has been NO.1 of joint-ventured SUVs with a sales of 300 thousand units. Monthly sales of Verna also broke million since listed in October. And by October, Beijing Hyundai has had 6 T-powered vehicles with an accumulative sales of above 200 thousand units, which accounted for about 60% of total sales.

While aimed at sales breaking ten million units, Beijing Hyundai introduced new Blue Melody strategy, combined intelligence, networking and electrification together and formed core competitiveness for the future.

Beijing Hyundai planned to complete establishment of 4 new energy platforms, that is HEV, PHEV, EV and FCEV, and introduce 9 new energy products and have sales volume exceeding 10% by 2020. Beijing Hyundai also developed environmental-friendly vehicles in traditional markets. Now 6 T-power vehicles with three different displacement have been put into production with 1.2T and 1.0 T vehicles coming soon in the future.

Beijing Hyundai will also announce 10 products in 2017, including 8 traditional energy vehicles and 2 new energy vehicles.
