FAW Toyota aims at system reform and raises annual sales target twice

After the first sales volume target adjustment at the middle of this year,  raises the sales expectation again, just prior to the Guangzhou Auto Show. Its 2016 sales expectation has increased from 620,000 units, 630,000 units to 650,000 units, growing 5% with the same period of last year.

Data from CPCA shows that FAW Toyota has a total sales volume of 530,800 units at the previous ten months, in which Corolla sells 250,000 units and it accounts for 46.4% of FAW Toyota’s sales volume. To consolidate small-size vehicles’ market share, FAW Toyota releases new model VIOS FS at the Guangzhou Auto Show this year.

Jiang Jun, CEO of FAW Toyota Auto Sales Ltd. Company told NBD Auto that, “Although beneficial policies are quite unclear, the auto market performance would not be very bad in the next year. FAW Toyota plans to challenge 700,000 units’ target in 2017.”

In fact, the three-year period from 2015 to 2017 is the inner structure reforming period for FAW Toyota. In 2017, FAW Toyota will rebuild a leading sales system to transform into an aggressive one. The company will enter a fast-growing period since 2018 and accomplishes the annual sales target of 1m units in 2020. To achieve this, FAW Toyota is focusing on dealerships’ inventories and distributing sales channels.

Jiang Jun said that FAW Toyota will adjust inventories according to market change and set specific indexes for dealerships’ inventories. Besides, FAW Toyota plans to invest less in a new dealership store to create more sales channels.
