Chana annual sales reaches 3.06m units in 2016, increasing 9.2%

Shanghai January 4th, 2017 Gasgoo-It’s learned that Changan Auto has a total sales volume of 3.06m units in 2016, increasing 9.2% with 2015. The 2017 annual target is set at 3.1m units, and 10 new models including cars, SUVs, as well as alternative energy vehicles will be launched.

Sales volume of Chinese brand passenger vehicles exceeds 1m units for two consecutive years. In the year 2015, Changan Auto wins sales champion among all Chinese passenger vehicle brands, followed by Haval, Geely, Baojun and BYD. It has great possibilities that Changan Auto will keep champion in 2016.

According to plan, Changan Auto will keep on promoting technological innovation and making breakthroughs in alternative energy vehicles and intelligentization areas. Currently, Changan Auto has established R&D bases in Chongqing, Beijing and Shanghai, along with bases in Turin, Birmingham, Detroit and Yokohama, forming a technological R&D system in seven locations across five countries.

Changan New Energy Automobile Co. Ltd. will invest a total of RMB 8b by 2020 to achieve an annual sales target of 400,000 units’ alternative energy vehicles. Changan Auto will promote the equipment of in call terminal and TBOX on all models. By 2020, driving intelligent carrying rate and parking intelligent carrying rate are expected to exceed 40% and 10% respectively. And the first self-driving model will also be put into mass production.
