FAW-Volkswagen Targets on 1.5 Times Growing Rate in 2017 without SUVs

SHANGHAI January 21st, 2017 Gasgoo – FAW-Volkswagen has sold 1315 thousand units vehicles in 2016, increased 17.3% comparing with that of the previous year, among which Jetta, Bora and Sagitar made a contribution of 900 thousand units. FAW-Volkswagen has launched 7 new products in 2016, including the brand new Bora, Golf Sportsvan, Sagitar GLI, new Sagitar R-Line, the brand new Magotan, C-TREK and Jetta. Almost all the car series have new products launched expect for CC.

Due to a success of new products and creative marketing methods, almost all products of FAW-Volkswagen gained good results in 2016----C-TREK, the 7th new product of FAW-Volkswagen, was sold 6712 units within two months since it was listed; Magotan refreshed its sales record for 5 months consecutively; Sagitar, Bora and Jetta were sold about 900 thousand units in total and the Golf family accounted for 42% of A-level hatchback segment.

Sales Expectation of 2017: Sales Break 1.4 Million Units; Shares Decrease 1%

As subsidy policies for purchase taxes of low-emission vehicles continually influencing the market, subsidies for NEVs decreased and traffic control for vehicles haven’t meet National III emission standard will all stimulate the market growth, FAW-Volkswagen aims to sell 1405 thousand units vehicles in 2017, about 4.8% increased year over year and is 1.5 fold more than the expectation of market. The automaker also plans to have sales of Jetta, Sagitar and Bora, the three A-level sedans, to break one million, an expected year-on-year growth of 11%.
