GAC Trumpchi’s newly established alternative energy vehicle factory will expand capacity of 200,000 units

Shanghai March 29th, 2017 Gasgoo-According to brand plan, GAC Trumpchi will quickly promote the “135” alternative energy strategy, including the popularization of PHEV, BEV models in the future covering all-level markets from A0-class to C-class. Currently, the R&D process is moving forward steadily, and more emphasis has been put on production process. Official news comes out that GAC Group has approved GAC Motor’s investment of RMB 4.69b to construct a new alternative energy vehicle factory, located in Guangzhou, which will expand annual capacity of 200,000 units after completion.

It's also learned that GAC Trumpchi will launch 9 new models in 2017, including many alternative energy vehicles. The first one, GE3, will be launched this year.

GE3, based on the new BEV platform, adopts the concept vehicle’s design in North America Auto Show, with triangular headlights and fog lights showing great vigor. The blue Trumpchi LOGO is put in the center of air-inlet grille, but blue trim strips around front faces, rims and tails are abandoned.

The new vehicle has a body size of 4,337*1,825*1,655mm, with the wheelbase of 2,650mm. The Trumpchi GE3 Production version adopts suspended roof design. The interior design of Trumpchi GE3 is quite ordinary, only knob-type shift mechanism indicates of an alternative energy vehicle model. Besides, the new model equips with roof rack, multi-function steering wheel and electronic brake.

The new vehicle will use BEV system with the maximum motor power of 120 KW and peak torque of 290 NM. The voyage range will exceed 310 KM, and it takes only 9.3s to accelerate from 0 to 100 KM/H.
