Domestic Skoda KAROQ will make debut in November with lengthened wheelbase
SHANGHAI May 5th, 2017 Gasgoo – Currently, foreign media exposed that Skoda would launched a new compact SUV KAROQ based on the MQB platform, looking like a small-size Kodiak. Its domestic model will make debut on Guangzhou Auto Show this November, with the wheelbase increasing 50mm in length. The model is expected to be launched in January or February of 2018.
The new model uses Skoda’s latest designing language, keeping the same with Kodiak in overall image. Only details show some changes. For example, black is used in the body side, tails and roof rack. Detailed information on power for domestic KAROQ is not cleared yet, but five power plants will be provided for its overseas version. The 1.5TSI may be the mainstream products.
With the entry of compact SUV products, SAIC Volkswagen and SAIC Skoda are enlarging their product lines with at least five SUV models with different levels including Tiguan, KAROQ, Kodiak, Tiguan L and Teramont till the year 2018. At that time, the SUV model matrix layout for SAIC Volkswagen and Skoda will be established.
