GWM sold 68,900 units in May, while Haval H6 continues to be SUV sales champion
GWM released data on the night of June 6th that it sells 68,942 units in May with a year-on-year decrease of 3.76%. The total sales volume reaches 396,272 units from January to May, increasing 3.02% year-on-year. Exported vehicles grow 181.68% to 3,259 units.
Haval SUV sells 58,390 units in May, accounting for 84.69% of the total. Wingle pickup and GWM cars sell 9,663 units and 889 units respectively, accounting for 14.02% and 1.29% of the total. Haval SUV have an accumulative sales volume of 342,167 units from January to May, increasing 6.54% year-on-year. H6’s sales volume in May reaches 35,262 units. Small-size SUV H2 sells 15,539 units with a year-on-year growth of 24.55%. The high-end SUV models H8 and H9 sell 731 units and 1,144 units respectively in May, growing 65.38% and 57.14%.
Other Haval SUV models show declining sales volume. H1 sells 2,094 units, decreasing 59.94% year-on-year. H5, H6 and H7 sell 1,378 units, 35,262 units and 2,242 units, decreasing 40.35%, 5.80% and 29.39% year-on-year.
Wingle sells 9,663 units with a growth of 18.96%, which is within expectation. The sales of GWM car model C30 declines 48.31% to 889 units, reaching a historical low. But the situation is expected to be changed when C30EV is launched into market.
High-end SUV H8 and H9 have been upgraded for many times in 2017 by equipping with “2.0T+8AT” engines. The H6 facelift model also equips with 2.0GDIT/1.3 GDIT engines to match with 7-speed DCT. It’s expected that GWM will face another sales growth when H4 and WEY VV5 are launched into market.
