Tencent Former CTO Jeff Xiong will join in WM Motor as Vice Board Chairman

Shanghai September 12th, 2017 Gasgoo-It's known that Jeff Xiong, founder of Seven Sea and former CTO of Tencent, will join in VM Motor as Vice Board Chairman, showing WM's intention to enter into AI area.

Aged 52, Jeff Xiong was once regarded as the most-experienced product leader of Microsoft MSN business. He joined in Microsoft as project manager in 1996, taking in charge of the development management and designing work of Internet Explorer, Windows 2000, MSN and other key products. He was sent to China in 2004 to construct the MSN China R&D center and was responsible for MSN's product development strategy and procedures in China.

Jeff Xiong left Microsoft to join in Tencent to be CTO in 2005, responsible for Tencent's platform R&D department. He made great achievements during his nine years in Tencent but resigned in 2013.

The he established Seven Sea Capital and was appointed as consultant of ARM global Board of Directors. He was optimistic towards the future of AI, emphasizing that AI market would break out and even could give birth to a company levelling with BAT.

He is appointed as the Board Chairman of ROOBO, an AI company invested by Seven Sea Capital. The company will provide a system solution to provide chips, modules and operating systems for appliances, vehicles and robots.

It's predicted WM Motor will take move in AI area, when news of Jeff Xiong’s joining in comes around. It’s also revealed that WM Motor was developing an intelligent ADAS, and was also actively constructing connection with software providers to make an AI industrial chain. Its first model on mass production will roll off the line in 2018, which is expected to equip with an AI system and becomes the first real AI model.
