GAC Trumpchi Sales in first ten months surge 41% year on year to 421,000 units

Shanghai (Gasgoo)-In 2017, the domestic passenger car market witnessed sluggish growth, while GAC Trumpchi rose with sales reaching new highs. According to the latest sales data released by Guangzhou Automobile Group, the sales volume of Trumpchi from January to October reached 421,672 units, a substantial increase of 41.8% over the same period of previous year. The sales from January to October has accounted for 84.3% of the annual target sales. The fourth quarter is the traditional car market season, for the moment, there is no doubt that Trumpchi is going to realize its target sales of 500,000 units for the year.

In the year of 2016, GAC Trumpchi entered the fast track of growth and its annual sales ranked top 6 among self-owned vehicle brands. In 2017, Trumpchi introduced 5 models, such as the GS3 and GS7, etc. Additionally, it also maintains robust sales growth momentum in 2017. In October, sales of Trumpchi reached 45,452 units with an increase of 14.1% over the same period of previous year. The cumulative sales soared 41.8% year on year to 421,672 units during January to October.

GAC Trumpchi's compact SUV, the GS4 and the medium-sized SUV, the GS8 are the major sales contributors. Sales of the GS4 in the first ten months reached over 280,000 units, ranking the second in Chinese SUV market. The average monthly sales of the GS8 stood at around 8,000 units. In addition, sales of GAC Trumpchi's newly-released medium-sized SUV, the GS7 and the small SUV, the GS3 are also continuing to increase.

GAC Trumpchi's new vehicle plan shows that its first MPV, the GM8 will debut at the Auto Guangzhou 2017 on November 17. The introduction of the new model will fill up the vacancy of MPV and helps to achieve the full coverage of sedan, SUV, and MPV. In addition, its star model, the GS4 will usher in its facelift version within this year.
