Tencent releases connected vehicle ecosystem AI in Car

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- At the 2017 Tencent Partner Conference, Tencent officially released its connected vehicle ecosystem named AI in Car and announced the first OEM partners of this ecosystem, which includes GAC Group, Changan Automobile, Geely Auto, BYD, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor.

In order to open up and share the latest technology and expertise, the location services of Tencent set up an open laboratory with Comprehensive Transportation Institute of National Development and Reform Commission and other global partners like Navinfo.

AI in Car, the newly released ecosystem, integrates the company’s safety platform, content platform, big data, service ecosystem and AI technology to offer carmakers intelligent, contextual, customized service.

Actually, the media and tech firm has already got plans in intelligent vehicle field. In the second half of last year, Tencent set up its autonomous vehicle lab, which consists of domestic and foreign well-known experts. With a huge amount of accumulated technology in high-definition map, point-cloud information processing and fusion, the lab undertakes the task to accumulate all essential technology in autonomous vehicle segment and lead the industry-university-research cooperation.
