New Model Plans of Six Self-owned Auto Brands

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- At the Auto Guangzhou 2017, many executives from China self-owned auto brands revealed their new model plans of the near future. From the current information, six self-owned auto brands will unveil a total of 23 new models, 16 of which are SUVs. The six brands are WEY, Changan, MG, Roewe, Lynk & Co and GAC Trumpchi.

Of all the six brands, WEY seems much more ambitious with six new models. In the first quarter of next year, the premium brand will launch its first PHEV, P8, followed by three fossil- fuel-powered vehicles (VV6, VV7X and P8X) and two hybrids (VV5s Hi4 and VV7s Hi4).

Li Wei, vice president of Changan, said that in the end of this year and next year his company will introduce four new models. Raeton CC will be launched first in December. Roewe will improve its RX series product lineup with RX2, a subcompact SUV, and RX8, a mid-large size SUV.

SAIC MG also revealed its plans for the next two years. In 2018, the automaker will introduce three new energy models, namely MG 6 plug-in hybrid version, MG ZS plug-in hybrid version and battery electric version. In 2019, it will launch an all-new subcompact SUV and a new seven-seater SUV.

So far, what can be sure about Lynk & Co’s plan in the coming year are its two new models, Lynk & Co 01 plug-in bybrid and Lynk & Co 03. The latter will be a mid-size or mid-large size sedan.

In 2017, GAC Trumpchi launched several models such as GS3, GS7 and GE3. Next year, the automaker will introduce four new models, including two SUVs.
