AutoNavi, Lynk &Co sign cooperation agreement

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Recently, AutoNavi Software, a Chinese web mapping, navigation and location-based services provider, reached a strategic cooperation agreement with Lynk & Co. Two parties will conduct studies in the fields such as map data, navigation engine, big data on transportation.

Wei Dong, president of the company’s automobile business department, said that AutoNavi will be Lynk & Co’s long-term exclusive supplier of navigation map and navigation engine. Besides, the companies will develop together the in-vehicle navigation system for many future models.

At present, Lynk & Co 01 features AutoNavi’s in-vehicle internet navigation system, which has access to many features, such as the real-time traffic, 3D navigation guide, enlarging view of intersections, mobile phone connection.

According to Wei, vehicles are transforming from transportation means to the platform of travelling services, in which automakers will be deeply integrated with internet companies. In his opinion, in the development of in-vehicle services, two factors play crucial roles. One is the internet connectivity of vehicles, which makes online service possible. The other is data opening, whose deep integration will bring better experiences.
