Audi still lags behind BMW, Benz in YTD sales in China

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- By the end of November, a total of three luxury car brands have delivered over 500,00 vehicles in China this year. BMW Group was the most popular automaker in China in the past eleven months, with a cumulative sales volume of 542,362 units.

In November, Audi delivered 56,208 vehicles, up 6.5 percent year on year and was again the champion of monthly sales. However, with a year-on-year decrease of 2.1 percent, the luxury brand of VW Group still lagged behind BMW and Benz in cumulative sales.

The total sales of BMW Group (including BMW brand and Mini) reached 55,293, jumping 12 percent year on year. The third most popular luxury brand in China in November was Benz, soaring 22.2 percent from a year earlier to 50,813 units.

With a year-on-year growth of 23.4 percent, Cadillac sold 16,629 vehicles in November, nearly 3,000 more than Lexus. For the first time, Volvo’s annual sales exceeded 100,000 units. Last month, Volvo China sales were 11,259 units, increasing 24 percent compared with the same period of last month. Up to the end of November, Volvo has delivered 104,344 vehicles in China in 2017.

Lincoln had a good performance either in monthly sales or cumulative sales. In the previous eleven months, the American brand sold 51,735 vehicles in China, surging 83 percent from a year earlier.
