Brilliance, Renault said to build new JV on Dec. 15

Shanghai (Gasgoo)-According to a local report, Brilliance Renault Jinbei Automobile Co., Ltd. will be officially set up on Dec. 15. The new JV will focus on light commercial vehicles (LCV) and NEVs sectors, and will introduce and manufacture Renault's new LCV models in China. In the future, vehicle products under Brilliance Jinbei brand are expected to bear Renault's badge. 

Shenyang Brilliance Jinbei Automobile Co., Ltd. (SBJ) covers such businesses as commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, and specialty vehicles, but it has never entered into the NEV sector. With the new JV, SBJ and Renault will cooperate in the technological development, products research and market sales of NEVs and LCVs. They will also jointly develop new NEV models based on the existing products, and proactively promote the local production of Renault's LCVs.

Early in July, 2017, Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Limited (CBA) had signed a framework cooperation agreement with Groupe Renault, saying that both parties will establish a JV to drive the development of Jinbei, Renault and Huasong by virtue of both parties' advanced technologies and rich experience.
