JAC January sales drops 13.6% year on year

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp., Ltd. (JAC) sold 52,435 vehicles and manufactured 55,797 vehicles in January this year, falling 13.6% and 7.27% year on year respectively.

As to the PV sector, the sales of SUVs and MPVs all suffered a considerable year-on-year decrease last month. The sales of SUVs slumped 46.85% from the previous year to 11,952 units and only 4,859 units of MPVs were delivered with a monthly decrease of 24.43%. Besides, the January sales of sedans reached 3,559 units, skyrocketing 173.35% compared with the same period in 2017. 

The automaker sold 5,198 units of heavy trucks with a month-on-month increase of 57.42%, while dropping 16.12% from a year earlier. JAC had set a sales target for heavy trucks of 60,000 units in 2018. 

The company won an outstanding start in its light truck sales in 2018. Last month, 22,837 units of JAC light trucks were delivered, jumping 55.6% month on month and increasing 10.56% year on year. JAC light trucks had won the champion by its monthly sales at the beginning of last year. The automaker has maintained such dynamic momentum for one year. 

Sunray, JAC's light van brand, handed over 322 units in January, surging 116.11% from 2017. Sunray plans to roll out new models in 2018 to strengthen its competitiveness in European-style light van segment. 

Meanwhile, JAC sold 3,621units of pure electric PVs in January. The export sales decreased 16.79% year on year to 6,407 units.
