Xi’an to build up automotive industrial cluster valuing RMB 100 billion in five years

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Xi'an municipal government recently announced that it will support Xi'an Economic & Technological Development Zone to develop an automotive industrial cluster valuing RMB 100 billion over the next five years. During 2017 and 2021, the capital city of Shaanxi Province will arrange a special investment of no less than RMB 1.5 billion annually to support the development of the automotive industrial cluster valuing RMB 100 billion. 

Specifically, Xi'an is determined to be an automotive manufacturing base which is capable of manufacturing heavy trucks, buses and sedans, and also aims to shape a complete all-auto-industry chain covering vehicle manufacturing, specialty vehicles and auto parts.

The automotive industrial cluster will strengthen the manufacturing power of vehicle, enhance the manufacturing strength of auto parts, improve the competiveness of core technologies and accelerate the industrialized development of NEVs. In terms of vehicle manufacturing, Xi'an will give the priority to accelerate the development of Geely Auto and Shaanxi Heavy-duty Motor. Besides, it will actively introduce well-known auto firms and advanced vehicle-manufacturing technologies to shape a full lineup of vehicle products and improve the manufacturing power of automobiles.

When it comes to NEV field, Xi'an will accelerate the R&D and introduction of core technologies, including electric motor, power battery, and electronic control systems as well as charging stations, based on the scientific and educational resources. Xi'an Economic and Technological Development Zone will be built into a key manufacturing base for NEVs with a batch of promising and competitive vehicle products.  

After the automotive industrial cluster finished construction, the vehicle manufacturing base will achieve an annual production capacity of more than 1,000,000 units and a total output value of over RMB 100 billion.
