WM Motor to launch NEVs in Hainan Province for tourism rental service
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- China's electric vehicle (EV) startup WM Motor officially signed a cooperation agreement with Hainan Province Transport Investment Holding Company Limited to deploy layout in tourism rental area. Both parties will build a joint venture that will launch 2000 NEVs in Hainan Province in the next three years.
In the meantime, WM Motor released its "three-step" development strategy dubbed "intelligence, sharing and globalization" at the signing ceremony. The strategy will be executed in three stages. The first is to realize vehicle mass production and the second and third steps are to deliver smart travelling services and achieve global strategy, according to Lu Bin, the startup's co-founder and vice president of strategic planning.
Besides, WM Motor wishes to offer a better travelling rental service to tourists based on big data analysis. What's more, the company aims to own 15 thousand operation vehicles in Hainan Province by the end of 2020 and strives to increase this number to 30 thousand after that.
Moreover, WM Motor showed that "GETnGO" will cooperate with the joint venture to develop tourism-focused travelling businesses. The "GETnGO" is the company's independent smart travelling service brand that had been unveiled in September, 2017.
Additionally, WM Motor will unveil its second model EX6 at Auto China 2018 in Beijing, Lu Bin said to local media. This new model is planned to go on sale in 2019, which will be positioned above the current EX5 with a higher class and larger size. In the future, the company will release a new model each year.
