Dongfeng Nissan boasts YoY delivery growth of 17.8% in April
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Dongfeng Nissan delivered a total of 90,946 units in April, achieving a double-digit year-on-year growth of 17.8%. Meanwhile, its cumulative deliveries in the first four months reached a new high of 333,713 units (including imported vehicles), climbing 8.2% from the previous year.
The deliveries of SUVs surged 28.1% year on year to 34,678 units in April. To be specific, 15,576 units of the new X-Trail were handed over with a year-on-year jump of 32.9%. The deliveries of the new Murano still maintained a sales volume exceeding 2,000 units in the past month, leaping 40.1% from a year earlier to 2,584 units, but still lagged behind the Honda Avancier.
For the first four months, the company delivered a total of 136,563 SUVs with a year-on-year surge of 26.8%. This was quite a good performance versus the shrinking sales growth of total SUV market in China.
As to sedan models, the Sylphy, which was the driving force of the so-called “comfort lineup”, saw a remarkable year-on-year growth of 33.9% to 36,471 units. Including the other two sedan models the Teana and the Sunny, the total deliveries of the “comfort lineup” reached 47,293 units, jumping 16.6% over the previous year.
At Auto China 2018 in Beijing, the automaker showed off the all-new Leaf and unveiled the Sylphy Zero Emission, Nissan's first electric vehicle locally-produced in China. Reportedly, the Sylphy Zero Emission will start pre-sale in May and the all-new Leaf is expected to be introduced in China later in 2018.
