Geely Auto to produce new 1.0TD engine with annual capacity of 400,000 units

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Zhejiang Yili Automobile Components Co.,Ltd (Zhejiang Yili), Geely Auto's subsidiary, has got governmental approval to operate the 1.0TD (1.0L turbocharged direct injection) engine program with an annual capacity of 400,000 units. The new engine will be installed in Geely Auto's self-owned models.

The engine program is expected to be finished within 3 years, involving a total investment of RMB 3.039 billion. With 229.33 mu (around 153 thousand square meters) of industrial land requisitioned, the program is to build new engine joint plant, equipped with assembly line and supporting testing facilities. Besides, the production line of engine parts will be upgraded to manufacture engines.

The all-new 1.0TD engine features some advanced technologies from Geely Auto, Volvo Cars and Gemany's FEV, including high-pressure gasoline direct injection (GDI), variable displacement oil pump, turbo charger with inter-cooler, etc. The three-cylinder new engine, formerly code-named as JLF-3G10TD, could output maximum power of 100kw and deliver torque up to 180Nm.

Geely Auto's new 1.0TD engine had been showcased at 2016 Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition, while has not been applied into any model yet. Reportedly, the new engine has not only been improved on power, but also boasts its environmentally friendly characteristics.
