Dongfeng Motor Jan-May sales top 1.6 million, up 4.36% year on year

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Dongfeng Motor Corporation (Dongfeng Motor) announced on June 8 that its year-to-date sales reached 1,606,700 units by the end of May, up by 4.36% from the previous year and achieving year-on-year growth for 3 months in a row. The cumulative deliveries of passenger vehicles (PV) and commercial vehicles (CV) grew 3.99% and 6.32% over a year ago to 1,347,600 units and 259,100 units. Besides, a total of 6,500 electric vehicles (EV) were delivered through May.

From January to May, Dongfeng Motor self-owned brands delivered 570,900 vehicles in total, among which the PV and CV sales were 317,500 units and 253,400 units respectively. In addition, the joint ventures under the group posted a combined sales volume of 1,035,800 units so far this year.

Dongfeng Motor sported a year-on-year sales growth of 5.49% with 311,400 vehicles delivered in May. Its monthly PV sales totaled 257,500 units, increasing 5.39% over the year-ago period. Around 53,900 CVs were handed over last month, rising 5.95% from the previous year.

Additionally, its self-owned brands sold a total of 94,100 vehicles in May. Among that, the PV deliveries reached 41,500 units and the CV deliveries were up 5.58% year on year to 52,600 units.
