FAW posts YoY sales growth of 8.1% during past five months

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- FAW Group manufactured 303,000 vehicles in May, zooming up 22.4% from a year earlier. It sold 275,000 vehicles in May with a year-on-year growth of 5.9%. During January and May, FAW's cumulative sales reached 1,445,000 units, jumping 8.1% over the previous year. What's more, FAW saw its market share rise of 0.3% on an annual basis.

Hongqi posted a cumulative wholesale volume of 6,360 units and a delivery volume of 4,254 units through May. Particularly, since the Hongqi H5 hit the market on Apr. 25, the model's wholesale and delivery volume reached 2,106 units and 1,651 units respectively in May. In addition, more than 400 customers with social prestige have preordered the Hongqi L5 limited edition. These all embody that the market highly recognize Hongqi's brand and products.

FAW Jiefang delivered 141,561-unit heavy trucks during the past five months, a YoY growth of 15.3% compared with the same period last year, completing 53% of its annual sales target. In May, heavy truck monthly sales of Jiefang brand reached 24,157 units with a YoY growth of 10.62%. 

In September, 2017, FAW deepen a series of reform measures, which mainly focus on brand reshaping, reorganization and personnel reform. By far, FAW has secured great progress in quality, efficiency and power.
