Beijing Hyundai enjoys 25% YoY sales growth to over 380,000 units in H1
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Deliveries of Beijing Hyundai topped 380,000 units, jumping 25% from a year earlier during the first half of this year, according to the sales data released by Beijing Hyundai on July 2.
When it comes to sedan segment, Beijing Hyundai's two key models in sedan segment achieved remarkable sales performance during the past six months. Sales of the Elantra topped 100,000 units with sales growth more than doubled, enhancing its leading role in sedan segment. Another compact sedan, the Celesta also posted an outstanding YoY sales growth of 43% during the first half of 2018.
As to SUV segment, the cumulative sales of Beijing Hyundai reached about 137,000 units, soaring 72% from a year earlier.
Beijing Hyundai set an annual sales target of 950,000 units and targeted to secure the ninth place in the market for 2018. In order to achieve these goals, Beijing Hyundai now is continuing to construct "three vertical and three horizontal" product lineup. The vertical product lineup includes base models, high-performance models and NEV models, while the horizontal products focus on electrified, intelligent and internet connected technologies.
In 2018, Beijing Hyundai will see fast upgrades on products. In the second half of this year, the automaker will launch six new models, including the Celesta RV, the LAFESTA and the all-new Sonata plug-in hybrid.
Industry insiders believed that Beijing Hyundai can gain sales growth via giving top priority to SUV and NEV segments. However, since the two segments are crowded with competitive rivals, the differentiation will be the key for Beijing Hyundai to gain sales growth in the future.
