Changan Automobile, Huawei unveil joint innovation center, to step up cooperation in IoV, NEV
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chongqing-based automaker Changan Automobile and Huawei, a China-based leading provider of ICV infrastructure and smart devices, held an unveiling ceremony for their joint innovation center on January 15, according to local media.
In the meantime, the ceremony is also to celebrate the implementation of the all-around step-up strategic cooperation between two parties, who are ready to deepen the collaboration in vehicle intelligentization, IoV (Internet of Vehicles) and new energy from 2019.
In accordance with the cooperative agreement, Huawei's advanced technologies and products should be installed in the vehicles developed by Changan Automobile. Besides, they will jointly study on and develop the standards related to ICV (Intelligent-connected vehicle) and intelligent connectivity business for automotive industry.
New energy vehicle (NEV) is another highlight for their partnership. The automaker and the technology company will strive to launch their first joint NEV platform as soon as possible and is ambitious to develop it into a not only China's best but world-leading BEV platform.
Changan Automobile and Huawei inked a strategic cooperation agreement on July 4, 2018 to set up the joint innovation center focusing on an IoV platform.
Under the agreement, the innovation center is built to create a R&D platform boasting intelligentization, connectivity, electrification and sharing features. Both parties will make use of Huawei's advantages in information communication and new energy control technology and conduct deep research on advanced technical application scenarios and carriers provided by Changan Automobile.
