Shanghai (Gasgoo)- A local media managed to get the patent images of the second model from Jinkang SERES, a subsidiary of Chinese automaker Sokon Group. The patent images showed that the Coupe model, named the SERES SF7 and similar to BMW X6 in the style, retains the iconic SERES family’s design style with two Sigma (∑)-shaped daytime lights.

The med-large-SUV SF7’s concept variant was launched before in American Silicon Valley. It, taller than the current SF5, is expected to be larger in size. It will be unveiled as early as this year. In light of the SF5’s reservation price of between RMB278,000 ($39,332) and RMB458,000 ($64,798), the SF7 is supposed to be priced at more than RMB400,000 ($56,592) and to compete with NIO’s ES8.

As to the exterior, compared with the SF5, the new electric model tends to be more like a crossover with more complicated rims. It can be observed the SF5’s concept model boasts vent holes in its front fender and black trims in the side skirts. The patent images show these features are optional for the SF7. In addition, the second model is expected to share the same lightweight aluminum electric platform with the SF5.

The SERES SF5 is being produced in its Chongqing Liangjiang factory, which has an annual BEV production capacity of 50,000 units. The SF7 is likely to be put into production there.

Two existing versions of the current SF5, pure electric one and extended-range electric one, will be delivered within this year. With regard to the powertrain, the SF5 carries an engine which has a maximum power of 510kw and whose torque peaks 1040 N.m with its BEV model’s NEDC-rated range of over 500km. Besides, it will take 3.5s to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h and its top speed is 250km/h. The SF7 is likely to adopt the same powertrain.
