Mercedes-Benz-styled Denza X to hit market at Auto Guangzhou
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Denza, a joint venture between BYD and Daimler AG, has recently released a test video of its new model Denza X. The Shenzhen-based EV maker said it would introduce the SUV to the market at the 2019 Guangzhou Auto Show at the end of this month.
The car boasts technological and luxurious features at the same time. At its sleek and futuristic front face, sharp headlights embedded with a long LED light barare very noticeable. Matt logo “Styled by Mercedes-Benz” added on the car side, concealed handles and trims in the same color accentutate its luxury.
The seven-seater SUV features simple body design. The roof contour line sliding from the B pillar’s upper end as well as the spoiler and its broad shoulder makes it look more sporty. Another highlights lie in the 23-inch wheel hub in two colors and the Brembo brake caliper. The Denza X measures 4,890mm in length, 1,950mm in width and 1,725mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,820mm.
Besides, the new model is outfitted with a large-sized rotatable center console screen and digital liquid crystal instrument panel, whose UIs (user interface) are both designed in concise fashion. The vehicle also carries a three-spoke steering wheel.
The new model is to be offered in PHEV and BEV variants. The pure-electric powertrain is expected to work alongside an electric motor with a maximum output of 245 hp. It will sport around 500km of NEDC-rated range. The PHEV version will be powered by a 2.0T engine that pumps out 192hp and two permanent magnet synchronous motors with a maximum power of 150hp at the front axle and 245hp at the rear one. They can both accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 5 seconds (photo source: Denza).
