Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Sino-French joint venture Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co.,Ltd (DPCA) plans to roll out three NEV models under Dongfeng Peugeot brand in the first half of 2020, including the all-new Peugeot e-2008, the 508L PHEV and the 4008 PHEV, according to a local media outlet.

All-new Peugeot e-2008

The China-spec Peugeot e-2008 celebrated its domestic premiere at the ongoing 2019 Auto Guangzhou. Staying true to the fuel-burning version in terms of exterior and interior, the e-2008 still retains many signature cues of Peugeot vehicles, such as the “lion's claw” headlights and taillights.

As to the side profile, the two-tone body, the upward-sloping lower edge of rear windows and the “floating” C-pillar may meet the taste of younger consumers. Besides, the silvery rubbing strips at car doors and the silvery plates at the splitter are in tune with the chrome plated stripes at the rear bumper.

The BEV measures 4,312mm long, 1,785mm wide and 1,545mm high with a wheelbase spanning 2,600mm.

Inside the vehicle, an occupant can still find some familiar elements like the dual-spoke steering wheel, the 10.1-inch touchscreen console and the hard buttons located along the driver's monitoring system. Similar to the old model, while the whole set of interior design has a different name—“3D i-Cockpit immersive cockpit”.

The e-2008 is equipped with an electric motor that is good for 120kW and 260 N·m of peak torque. NEDC-rated range may be 430km.

Peugeot 508L PHEV

The Peugeot 508L PHEV made its premiere in April at the 2019 Auto Shanghai. Its front face displays a striking resemblance to the ICEV version. The daytime running light strips piercing into the headlight cluster look like a pair of tusks.

The model emphasizes its dynamic aesthetics with a fastback-styled side body. At the rear rend, the new PHEV also features the Peugeot family's iconic “lion's claw” taillights. Besides, the sports essence has been further lifted by an exhaust layout with a single pipe on each side. At a closer glance, the area where the reversing light is located looks somewhat longer than that of the fuel-burning version.

The 508L PHEV carries a 1.8-litre turbocharged engine with a plug-in hybrid system, of which the internal combustion engine is good for 200hp and the electric motor can churn up to 109hp. It has a NEDC-rated range of up to 50km in BEV-only mode.

The Peugeot 4008 PHEV

The China-built Peugeot 4008 PHEV was unveiled at the Chengdu Motor Show 2019. Although the exterior & interior’s similarity to the combustion engine-powered version is apparent at the first glance, some nuances can still be noticed. For instance, the mark “HYBRID/PLUG-IN” at the front wheel fenders and the charging port located above the left rear wheel tell that this is a vehicle powered by both fuel oil and electricity.

The 4008 PHEV is driven by a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.6THP engine, two electric motors at the front and rear axles as well as an 8-speed automatic transmission from Aisin, offering a combined output and peak torque of 222kW and 450N·m. The automaker claims the sprint to 100km/h takes 4.4 seconds. In addition, the engine used satisfies the China Ⅵ emission standard (photo source:Dongfeng Peugeot's WeChat)  .
