FAW-Volkswagen Audi sells 688,888 units in 2019, up 4.2%

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The 2019 sales of FAW-Volkswagen Audi rose 4.2% year on year to 688,888 units, marking a new annual sales record. Of that, 630,800 China-built models were delivered last year, which edged up 5% from the year-ago period, while the imported vehicles maintained a steady sales performance with 58,088 units delivered.

Specifically, in terms of the locally-made models, the full-sized all-new intelligent Audi A6L witnessed the annual sales of 131,185 units, while the fire-new Q5L, a midsize SUV, saw its sales jump 16.8% over the previous-year period to 138,970 units. Meanwhile, the Audi A4L, was crowned the most popular model with 168,473 units sold. Besides, the combined sales of the compact Audi A3, the new Q2L and Q3 hit 191,971 units.         

With regard to the specific imports, the all-new Audi Q8 was very popular in the flagship SUV segment with over 1,500 units sold just in two months after its launch. The sales of the Q7 to be upgraded reached 15,578 units in 2019 and the sales volume of the large-sized new A8L grew 21.6% year on year to 12,428 units. The Audi e-tron, the first BEV model of the German luxury car brand, hitting the Chinese market in November, 2019, is also showing significant market potential.
