China’s MIIT launches measures to facilitate auto companies’ work resumption

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) promoted on March 18 several measures to facilitate automobile companies' work resumption, in order to dredge the channels blocked by the coronavirus when they carry out some governmental requests.

In respect of the new product to be declared to the MIIT, if the testing report hasn't been offered by a third-party institute, a company is allowed to submit the result of R&D validation and test as a replacement on the basis of self-commitment, according to the ministry's statement.

In case of any change in parameters of the products that have been granted permit, a company will be provided the “acceptance notwithstanding temporary lack of some documents” service with its application being accepted and handled ahead of the arrival of relevant testing reports.

To further enhance the work efficiency, the authority shall move faster on dealing with enterprises’ applications. Besides, the deadline for companies to examine and rectify existing problems shall be postponed by three months, so that they can more focus on operation and production businesses.

The foregoing measures have come into effect on March 18.

Given that the epidemic in Hubei province has been effectively contained, the resumption of local businesses has been addressed now.

Among a multitude of industries, the work of the auto parts is expected to be reactivated on a priority basis, according to Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The plan has also been vigorously supported by Hubei provincial government and local joint epidemic prevention & control mechanism.

Work resumption is taking place across China's auto industry in an orderly manner. According to surveys done by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), automakers including Changan, Chery, Geely, JAC Motors, Brilliance Auto, Sinotruck and Yutong have all fully restarted operation as of March 11. Such major auto parts suppliers as Weichai, Continental AG, Faway, CITIC Dicastal, Yuchai and CATL have also witnessed their businesses 100% operational now.
