FAW-Volkswagen’s May deliveries show two-digit YoY, MoM growth
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- FAW-Volkswagen said it was once again honored the champion in China PV market in May with a delivery volume of 186,777 units, a year-on-year jump of 22% and a month-on-month growth of 12.7%.

Among three sub-brands, Audi posted the biggest year-on-year growth of 36% with 65,008 vehicles delivered. Last month, the premium brand featuring four rings put the all-new Audi Q7—the mid-cycle refresh for the Q7—onto the market on May 7. Offered in three variants, the popular luxury SUV is priced from 689,800 yuan ($97,377) to 866,800 yuan ($122,364). Under the hood, there is a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces up to 340hp and 500 N·m, which is assisted by a 48-volt mild hybrid system.
With dimensions of 5,067mm length, 1,970mm width, 1,731mm height and a wheelbase of 2,999mm, the all-new Audi Q7 plays in the league of full-sized SUVs. Within the segment where it sits, the new SUV is the only one that comes standards with 7-seater layout.

During the same period, a total of 106,368 consumers took delivery of the joint venture's Volkswagen-branded vehicles, representing a slight year-on-year growth of 1.1% and an increase of 10.4%. The brand has tapped NEV domain by putting the Tayron GTE PHEV onto the market in late April, and is about to launch the Tayron X coupe SUV this month as part of endeavors to reach its annual sales target of 1.425 million units.
Jetta, the sub-brand designed to offer consumers more affordable cars, saw its deliveries in May rise 14% from a month ago to 15,401 units, of which the volume for the VS5 jumped 25% month on month.
