First Honda-branded all-electric concept model to be unveiled at Auto China 2020
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- First Honda-branded full-electric concept vehicle model will make its world’s debut at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition 2020 (Auto China 2020), which will kick off on September 26, the Japanese automaker announced.
Honda is speeding up the product upgrading and service innovation in electrification and ICV fields, the company said. In the future, the significant BEV model will be launched in China for sale.
Besides, Honda will launch two new models at the grand auto exhibition—the “Starry Sky” limited-run version of the tenth-generation Accord and the new VE-1 offered by GAC Honda and the all-new CR-V Sport Hybrid e+ from Dongfeng Honda.
Moreover, the entire lineup of Honda’s Sport Hybrid family will be showcased on site as well. Other models to head to the Auto China include the all-new Fit Sport, the all-new Fit Corsstar, the X-NV and the all-new Civic Hatchback.
Honda saw its China deliveries jumped 19.7% year on year to 148,636 units last month, the highest-ever Aug. volume the Japanese automaker has achieved in the world's largest auto market.
The double-digit growth should be equally credited to the upturn achieved both two joint ventures. GAC Honda's deliveries also leapt 19.7% from a year earlier to 71,143 units, while Dongfeng Honda scored a 19.8% robust increase with 77,493 vehicles delivered in August.
Thanks to the two-digit increase in both Jul. and Aug. deliveries, Honda's decrease in Jan.-Aug. China deliveries contracted to 9%, versus the 13.1% decline in Jan.-Jul. volume.
For the first eight months, GAC Honda and Dongfeng Honda delivered 455,362 units (-8.1% YoY) and 441,927 units (-9.8% YoY) respectively.
