Geely’s new CMA-based SUV KX11 named Xingyue L

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Geely's all-new CMA (Compact Modular Architecture)-based SUV KX11 is officially named the Xingyue L, Geely Auto announced on Feb. 18 via its WeChat account.

The automaker offered the first glimpse of the forthcoming SUV last month through the same social media platform. The vehicle might make its debut at this year's Auto China and is expected for sale as early as the first half of 2021.

The Xingyue L will be Geely's third CMA-based model. Positioned as a mid-sized SUV, it measures 4,770mm long, 1,895mm wide and 1,689mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 2,845mm. 

According to the photos released by Geely, the Xingyue L's front features a concise and classy design. Up front, vertical slates are framed within Geely's refreshed “expanding cosmos” grille, which is flanked by squarish headlights. For each cluster, the two rows of LED daytime running lights that are split into three dashes also make the front unmistakable.

The lower apron is made up of a slew of wide-width trim pieces that blend into the corners of bumper.

The powerful essence of the side view is underscored by prominent creases that stretch from the edge of headlights to the rear lamps, creating an image of constant motion even when still. Other notable cues of the side profile include sculpted doors, large-sized side windows and a comparatively flat roofline.

The taillight cluster running across the rear also underlines the stylishness for the vehicle.

As for the interior, the Xingyue L adopts three connected displays, including a liquid crystal dashboard, two screens in front of the center console and the front passenger seat.

Powering the vehicle will be the Volvo Drive-E 2.0T that comes with two maximum outputs—160kW and 175kW. The engine is likely to be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
