Haval’s all-new compact SUV Chitu goes on sale
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Great Wall Motor announced on May 20 the all-new Haval-branded compact SUV “Chitu” (Chinese name for “red hare”) officially hit the market as the fourth L.E.M.O.N platform-based model following the third-generation Haval H6, the Big Dog, and the Jolion.

The Haval Chitu, coming with three trim levels, is priced between 109,800 yuan ($17,050) and 123,800 yuan ($19,230). It is named after a famous horse owned by the warlord Lü Bu, who lived during the late Eastern Han dynasty of China.
On the outside, the Chitu uses an all-new design language to accentuate its sports essence. The big hexagonal grille couple with vertical slats inside and edged by black lacquered trim makes the front unmistakable.
Positioned as a compact SUV, the Chitu measures 4,450mm long, 1,841mm wide, and 1,625 mm tall with a 2,700mm wheelbase.

At the rear, a light strip stretches across the width of the SUV and the lettering “HAVAL” is located immediately below the taillight cluster.
The interior design is clean and uncluttered. In front of the driver's seat, there are a liquid crystal dashboard and a 12.3-inch floating console-mounted display that is armed with the Fun-Life intelligent connectivity system.
Other intelligent facilities include the Level 2 autopilot system, HUD, fully automatic parking system, intelligent remote monitoring system, as well as identity and emotion recognition systems.

Under the hood, the Chitu is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that can pumps out up to 184hp and 275 N·m, hooked up to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
