Chery Holding scores 84.2% YoY surge in Jan.-May auto sales
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chery Holding said it sold a total of 65,842 new vehicles in May 2021, representing a year-on-year jump of 58.1%. For the first five months, the group saw its year-to-date sales leap 84.2% to 348,302 units.

The group said it is taking a fast lane to a high-quality development with its sales and revenues rapidly growing so far this year. The growth rate in monthly sales for the Jan.-Apr. period stood at 80.2%, 144.9%, 130.5%, and 91.6% respectively. In addition, Chery Holding also scored a 70.9% year-on-year hike in cumulative revenues for the first four months.
It is worth mentioning that the group's export volume in May amounted to 19,444 units, rocketing 256.5% from the previous year. It was also the fourth consecutive month for the export business to achieve year-over-year increase of over 100%.
As to year-to-date performance, Chery Holding exported 94,916 new vehicles through May, a 154.5% surge compared to the prior-year period.
Last month, Chery Automobile witnessed its sales zoom up 73.8% from a year ago to 43,387 units. The Jan.-May sales of Chery Holding's Jetour product lineup totaled 65,127 units (+100% YoY), 10,257 units of which were sold in May.
Additionally, Chery Holding's new energy vehicle (NEV) sales in May shot up 131.7% over a year ago to 6,792 units, resulting in 32,337 units (+270.6% YoY) in year-to-date sales volume.
Up until now, Chery Holding has owned nearly 9.4 million users around the world, 1.8 million of which are outside China, the group said.
