Chery Holding boasts 80.4% YoY hike in semi-annual auto sales
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chery Holding announced its new vehicle sales amounted to 73,098 units in June 2021, surging 58.3% from a year ago.
As of June 2021, the group has sold 424,457 vehicles so far this year, representing an 80.4% blooming increase year over year. Of those, 118,743 vehicles were exported to overseas markets, representing a 168.4% hike from the previous year and surpassing the annual export volume of 2020. In domestic market, the group also scored a 60% growth by selling 305,714 vehicles.

According to Chery Holding, the growth rates in its monthly export volume during the Feb.-Jun. period stood at 117.3%, 101.9%, 312.5%, 256.5%, and 243.2% respectively.
Besides, the semi-annual deliveries of new energy vehicles (NEVs) rocketed 243.9% to 40,401 units, 33,371 units were passenger vehicles (+212.7% YoY).
The sales of Chery-branded vehicles zoomed up 95% to roughly 284,000 units for the first half of this year. The brand ranked second in the 2021 sales satisfaction ranking of Chinese domestic brands released by J.D. Power last month.
The year-to-date sales of EXEED brand achieved a 97% year-on-year hike in semi-annual sales, partly thanks to the roll-out of new products including the EXEED VX (named “Lanyue” in Chinese), the EXEED LV Versailles version, and the EXEED TX “Super Performance All Wheel Drive) version.
Chery Holding's Jetour series had a sales volume of 76,453 units for the first two quarters, posting a 111.38% year-on-year growth.
Additionally, Chery Jaguar Land Rover saw its Jan.-Jun. sales grow 16.1% from a year ago to 26,471 units.
