Dongfeng Motor YTD sales edge up 7% YoY

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Dongfeng Motor Group's year-to-date sales volume by the end of August 2021 was 2.1286 million vehicles, indicating a 7% increase year on year, according to the motor group.

By the end of August, Dongfeng Motor posted a rise of 5.4% in passenger vehicles’ year-to-date sales volume to 1.5985 million units. The group’s own brands’ sales volume amounted to 301.6 thousand PVs from January to August, representing an increase of 37.5% year on year. In addition, the group’s joint venture brands posted a sales volume of 1.2969 million passenger vehicles this year by the end of August.

Dongfeng Motor’s commercial vehicles' sales volume accumulated to 530.1 thousand units this year so far, increasing 11.9% year on year.

Dongfeng Motor’s individual subsidiary brand Fengshen sold a cumulative number of 616 thousand vehicles in the first eight months of this year, soaring 57.1% year on year. The brand’s retail volume in August amounted to 10,012 vehicles, making August the fourth consecutive month of over 10,000 vehicles sold since this May.

Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën Automobile Company Ltd. (DPCA), the passenger vehicle joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Groupe PSA, saw a growth in sales for eight consecutive months. Its total sales for the first eight months surged 75% year on year to 50,277 vehicles, surpassing its total annual sales of last year.
