SVOLT, BASF strike pact for CAM development, raw materials supply, battery recycling
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese power battery manufacturer SVOLT and Germany-based chemical company BASF have entered into an agreement under which the duo will team up on their global operations regarding cathode active materials (CAM) development, raw materials supply, and battery recycling, BASF announced on Oct. 25 via its WeChat account.

The collaboration is expected to help both parties improve their R&D capabilities in sustainable battery materials and shore up their core competitiveness in China, and globally.
To consolidate the security and stability of raw material supply, the two companies will also evaluate the collaboration on joint upstream resourcing.
“The newly-formed partnership with BASF is an important part of SVOLT's global supply chain,” said Yang Hongxin, Chairman and CEO of SVOLT. “It will help us to complement each other's strengths along the battery supply chain, accelerate innovation capabilities in CAM R&D, and continuously promote portfolio innovation and core competitiveness for EV batteries,” he added.
