Car and City: November 2021 registrations of NIO models

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- For the month of November 2021, the insurance registrations of NIO's all mass-produced models added up to 10,407 units, zooming up 99.9% year on year, while also surging 165.3% month on month, according to the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC).

This was the second time for NIO to reach a monthly registration volume topping 10,000 units, following Sept., when NIO achieved its highest-ever registrations.

By Nov. registrations of China-made new energy passenger vehicles (NEPVs), NIO ranked tenth among all auto brands, and took the second runner-up place among Chinese NEV startups.

The ES6 still served as NIO's best-selling model in Nov. with 4,657 vehicles registered. It logged 96.1% and 81.6% growth compared to the year-ago and month-ago periods respectively. Among homemade NEPV models in China, the ES6 only ranked 25^th by Nov. registrations.

Among cities in Chinese mainland, Shanghai recorded the largest Nov. registrations of the ES6 and was the only one with over 700 ES6s registered. The other three first-tier cities—Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen—ranked fifth, sixth, and eighth respectively by the ES6 insurance volume.

The monthly registrations of the EC6 shot up 132.3% year on year to 3,391 units. By the end of Nov. 2021, cumulative volume of the EC6 had amounted to 31,899 units, 27,157 of which were registered this year.

In terms of regional registrations, four cities saw over 200 EC6s registered last month. Among the top 10 cities by Nov. EC6 registrations, six spots were averagely occupied by Zhejiang, Guangdong, and Jiangsu provinces.

The monthly registrations of the ES8 precipitously rose to 2,356 units in Nov. from only 351 units in Oct, resulting in 17,006 units in the year-to-date volume.

Regarding Nov. ES8 registrations, Shanghai still topped the other cities, while Guangdong province had three cities—Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan—on the top 10 cities list.

There were three ET7s registered in Shanghai last month, according to the CBIRC's data.
