Description:

Brose's power side door drive system consists of electric drive, electronic control unit, radar sensor for environment detection and an electric latch with cinching function. The system enables intelligent vehicle entry and exit, infinite door holding, detection and recognition of the surrounding environment.

Contactless vehicle access

The power side door drive system not only can enable the automatic opening and closing of side doors, but also realize contactless vehicle access with combination of intelligent recognition methods such as gesture, voice or smartphone.

Infinite door holding

The system allows the door to hold in any position when the vehicle is at the inclination of pitch and roll condition. This advantage solves the problem that the traditional door cannot hold on a slope, allowing user to easily enter and exit the vehicle under any circumstances.

Precise anti-collision

The 79GHz millimeter-wave radar sensor used in the system can detect obstacles within 0.1 meters to 2.9 meters. The detection includes accurate identification of the distance, size, angular position, and velocity of the obstacles, which is basically unaffected by environmental conditions such as rain, snow, mud and fog, as well as the color or transparency of the object. Integrating precise detection of sensors, electronic control units and algorithms, Brose's power side door drive system can accurately control the movement of the side door and avoid collisions with people and surrounding objects.

Manual operation available

Brose takes consumers' usage habits into full consideration during system development. Manual operation is available for end users with power assistance provided. This brings a comfortable and labor-saving manual door opening and closing experience.

Ensure safety after crash

In the development of the system, the parts connecting the body and doors adopt the design of push rod. This can ensure the smooth opening of the doors even in the case of deformation of the push rod after a collision, which guarantees passengers’ safe escape.

Brose's power side door drive system has a compact structure and the same interface with traditional manual door check for installation. Thus, it can be applied in different vehicle models. In addition, the system eliminates the need to consider interference with the movement of other parts inside the door. It is also not affected by the deviations of body and door manufacturing, which add more value to OEMs’ assembly.
