As specified by the Regulation, effective today, Toyota is recalling 9,498 units of the GS 250, GS 300, GS 350, GS 300h, and GS 450h produced between September 28, 2011 and August 22, 2018, added with 12,527 units of the IS 250 and IS 300 produced between October 25, 2012 and August 10, 2018, as well as 884 units of the RC 300 produced between October 2, 2015 and August 2, 2018, and finally 56 units of the RC F produced between September 29, 2014 and September 6, 2017.
The vehicles within the recall scope may have improper shapes on the upper part of the resin material fuel tank ventilation pipe’s outer shell, which may cause small cracks during use. Over time, the cracks may gradually penetrate the shell. In the event that the fuel tank is filled to capacity, fuel may leak from the cracked part of the ventilation pipe’s outer shell, posing a safety hazard and unreasonable emission risks.
The Japanese automaker will replace the fuel tank ventilation pipe under risks with the improved ones free of charge for the vehicles within the recall scope to eliminate safety hazards and unreasonable emissions.
