Jaguar Land Rover, Alibaba Cloud team up to drive digital transformation in China

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Jaguar Land Rover China and Alibaba Cloud signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing their digital capabilities, according to Alibaba Cloud’s announcement made today.

The partnership will encompass infrastructure cloudification, supply chain and procurement digitization, marketing digitization, carbon neutrality and carbon peak, and research on autonomous driving compliance in China.

For infrastructure construction, Jaguar Land Rover China will introduce Alibaba Cloud's globally leading cloud computing technology, create a safe, stable, and efficient technological foundation, and build an integrated management big data platform of research, production, supplying, selling, and services. The platform will unify all data metrics, support the automaker’s six major business units and 200+ dealer stores.

For intelligent research and development, Jaguar Land Rover China will increase local R&D efforts, especially in the areas of autonomous driving and V2X. Support from Alibaba Cloud is expected to significantly enhance the company’s development efficiency and ensure its product compliance in China.

The two parties will also explore energy optimization and carbon footprint calculations in the automotive production process to achieve the highest levels of carbon neutrality, and digitize the factory, supply chain, and procurement platforms.

In addition, the duo will establish a digitized marketing system to improve user service and experience. The companies will introduce an smart management and service system within Jaguar Land Rover to enhance employee satisfaction.

Currently, Alibaba Cloud's automotive cloud service has served over 70% of Chinese automotive companies, including FAW Group, SAIC Motor, Changan Automobile, Geely Automobile, Great Wall Motor, XPeng, and Horizon Robotics, said the company.
