AVATR 12 included in MIIT's catalogue

Beijing (Gasgoo)- AVATR, the premium new energy vehicle brand jointly developed by Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL, recently saw its AVATR 12 model (internal code named E12) disclosed by a catalogue of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

Positioned as a luxury mid-to-large-sized new energy sedan, the AVATR 12 boasts a wheelbase of 3,020mm and dimensions surpassing the AVATR 11. It is expected to be available in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions. As previously reported, the AVATR 12 is set to debut in the third quarter of this year and is expected to hit the market within the year.

The AVATR 12 adopts a familial design language similar to the AVATR 11, with a minimalist front fascia featuring only side headlights, exuding a futuristic aura. Taking cues from the AVATR 11, the front end will be equipped with multiple sensors, including semi-solid-state LiDAR, millimeter-wave radar, ultrasonic radar, and cameras.

The AVATR 12 showcases sleek body lines and a coupe-like design. Its side profile features muscular fenders and large-sized wheels that exude a sporty demeanor. Additionally, the dimensions of the vehicle measure 5,020/1,999/1,460 (1,450)mm in length, width, and height, respectively. 

In terms of powertrain, the AVATR 12 four-wheel drive models are equipped with the Huawei DriveONE dual-motor system, with maximum power outputs of 195kW and 230kW for the front and rear motors, respectively. The single-motor model achieves a maximum power output of 230kW. The AVATR 12 also utilizes CATL’s ternary lithium battery packs. 

According to the automaker, the AVATR 12 is built on the CHN intelligent electric vehicle technology platform like the AVATR 11. Leveraging CHN's comprehensive capabilities, it incorporates the Huawei HarmonyOS system and the advanced Huawei ADS 2.0 intelligent driving system.
