Former Changan software expert Han Sanchu takes on as CEO of CARIAD China

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On February 28, CARIAD China announced that Han Sanchu would assume the role of the company's Chief Executive Officer, replacing Chang Qing, to lead CARIAD's operations in China.

CARIAD China stands as a pivotal component of Volkswagen Group's "in China, for China" strategy, aimed at shortening development times by 30% and providing software solutions tailored for the Chinese market.

Han Sanchu will bring a wealth of experience to his new position, having previously served at Changan Automobile, where he held roles such as Chief Software Architect. His tenure at CARIAD China will be marked by a focus on swiftly integrating cutting-edge technologies into vehicle models under Volkswagen Group's brands for the Chinese market. Additionally, Han Sanchu will join the management board of Volkswagen Group (China), and assume the role of Executive Vice President of the Group (China).

After successfully establishing CARIAD China, Chang Qing will return to Volkswagen Group headquarters as planned.

With a background in mechanical engineering and computer science from Southwest Jiaotong University and the University of Texas at Dallas, Han Sanchu has a robust understanding of automotive software and Software Defined Vehicles (SDV). He previously served as Chief Technology Officer at Changan Technology and led a technical team responsible for the comprehensive development of the SDV platform. His international experience in both the United States and China further enhances his capabilities in this role.
